At 61 one must realistically plan for the best and most enjoyable exit from this world. Thus, my decision if I get any advanced warning of my ultimate demise. I shall drink myself to death, and as I haven't gone on the ran in years it shouldn't take too long. I have the Archdruid of Dublin my friend Anrai O'Raghallaigh for my last rites, want it all over in a jiffy at the Burning Unit in Mount Jerome Cemetry, Dublin. No funeral, just get it over with. And I loved everybody I met as I passed by, well, not all of them, to tell the Truth - which is always credible from a dying man's lips. And let's face it, at 61+ you're dead, not gone, but on the way out...

Guess it didn't matter after all that I didn't stay as an Executive Officer in the Civil Service at the Custom House when I was 18, and sweat for promotion - sorry for leaving in such a hurry to all my friends there still surviving.

But I would never have known the world of professional photography and journalism if I'd stayed.

After that, I loved England and the English, though I always remained a firm Irish Nationalist - especially London and the old Covent Garden where I spent some teenage years, above in Chalk Farm which was known as Hippy Valley in those days where I helped Sid Rawle, elected King of the Hippies, Hyde Park Concert 1969.

I liked Germany too, and France was so-so. Never met or heard of any Druids, or anything about it when I was in Paris !

BTW, I know better pubs than those listed in Dublin...memories...
